
The following terms and conditions shall apply to The Afrobloggers Awards:
Nomination Process
During this phase members of the public may submit a blog, podcast or vlog (all which are herein after referred to as digital work) for an Award consideration.
- Any member of the public may nominate any digital work for consideration. Self nomination is also allowed.
- The digital work being submitted must suit the category into which it is being nominated.
- The digital work being nominated must be accessible to the public at all times.
- Afrobloggers will contact every nominated content creator for confirmation.
- Only confirmed digital work, submitted during the stipulated nomination period will be considered in the Awards.
Voting Process
- Only Shortlisted entries shall proceed to the voting phase.
- Voting shall be open to any member of the public.
- Members of the public will be able to vote in each category (1 vote per week for their entry of choice).
- The voting phase will run concurrent with the judging phase to avoid popularity bias by the adjudicators.
Judging Process
- There shall be a judges’ committee established to judge the entries.
- Only shortlisted entries shall proceed to the final judging phase
- The judging phase will run concurrent with the voting phase and,
- The judges will not have access to public voting results until the consolidation stage.
- The judges will decide the winner and the runner-up per each category.
- The Blogger of the Year will be chosen by the Judges’ Committee.
- The Judges’ committee decisions shall be final.
General Provisions
- The Afrobloggers Awards are open to Africans only.
- Afrobloggers staff, Judges, Sponsors, and Partners are not eligible.
- Violation of The Afrobloggers Awards terms and conditions will lead to disqualification.
